YOUTH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

The Victory Gardens International Youth Workforce Development Program is a hands-on, paid learning experience that prepares young people for meaningful careers while addressing food insecurity and strengthening local communities.

Operating at Landon Lane Homestead and Retreat, the program immerses youth in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and community service. Participants gain practical job skills through real-world work growing, harvesting, and distributing fresh food, while also learning teamwork, responsibility, and workplace professionalism.

The program integrates leadership development, career exploration, and workforce readiness training, helping youth build confidence and envision pathways in agriculture, food-related careers, entrepreneurship, and community development. Participants are encouraged to understand the broader impact of their work and to see themselves as contributors to healthier, more resilient communities.

At its core, the program cultivates both skills and purpose—preparing young people for the workforce while investing in the future of our food systems and neighborhoods.
